Do Waiheke's Buses accept cash payment ? - No, only the AT HOP card
Where to buy or top-up on Waiheke Island ? - At the Matiatia Ferry Terminal and Waiheke Public Library in Oneroa Village (not at the Kennedy Point Terminal)
Do top-ups work instantly ? - Yes when done at the AT terminals at these two locations only
Can we also top-up on line ? - Yes, on the AT website after registering - note there is a time delay before the credit value is effective
How much to buy? - $5 for the card only plus travel credit value
How many people can use a card ? - Up to 4 people
How much does it cost per Waiheke Bus trip ?- $2.60 for 1 person, $6.60 for 2, $10.60 for 3, $14.50 for 4
How much is the longest trip ? - These are the prices for all trips including to Oneroa, Surfdale, Palm Beach, Ostend, Rocky Bay and the Onetangi area.
Is there an all-day set price bus pass ? - No, we have requested this however it's not currently available
Is the balance refundable ? - No its not refundable & it does have an expiry
Can i hop on and off ? - Yes - the journey will stop and a new one starts
Do the routes include Vineyards, Villages and scenic sights ? - Yes
Do the buses meet all ferry's ? - All ferrys are reachable by Bus until the very last sailing at night. The timetable considers the ferry times however is not directly linked. Buses run close to their timetable however in the event that one is running late note that are are several buses each hour in each direction so if you miss one, another is not too far away. Similarly with Fullers360 Ferry's, there is always another one coming so enjoy your Island time.
Can i use the balance on Aucklands mainland ? - Yes, on AT's Trains Buses and some Ferrys
Can i use the balance on Fullers360 Ferry ? - Yes - the cost is $29.50 per person one-way
What if i forget to tag off ? - AT will charge a default fair for your trip which is the maximum for that route
