Waiheke Horse Tours

Weaving through a forest valley on your way to our base it becomes clear a special experience awaits.

We overlook the Te Matuku Oyster farm within Te Matuku bay and our rides follow a privately owned coastal trail. There are some amazing huge native trees along the way, secluded coves and the historic remains of a Maori pa site, shared with peacefully grazing sheep and cattle.

Suitable for all levels of experience, the gentle climb provides exceptional views of Waiheke Island coast over the Tamaki Straight, within Aucklands Hauraki Gulf Marine Park.

For our two standard ride options we include a demonstration and riding lesson.

Several of our Horses may be familiar to those of you who are fans of ‘The Hobbit’ and ‘The Last Samurai’ movies.

For members in your group who are not riding - the 'Far End' public Walking track to Awaawaroa bay is nearby.

Transfers from the ferry terminal or your Island accommodation can be added to the packages or you are welcome to enjoy the very scenic 30 minute drive in your own vehicle.
