Freedom Walk Stony Batter

One of New Zealand’s great walks. Make your way to the eastern end of Waiheke to the locked gate on Man ‘O War Bay Rd. The walk travels along a gravel road passing many huge rocks scattered over the countryside. Discover a Nikau palm forest, 360 degree views, with the most stunning towards the east over islands and Coromandel. A world away from Waiheke’s population, ideal for picnics and photography.

In 2020, the tunnels were reopened for guided experiences with a new oprator, in conjuntion with DOC
